Emma was born Nov. 5, 1848, in Nelson, PA; d. Feb. 3, 1928, in Watkins, Schuyler Co., NY. She married Sept. 30, 1874, Jabez Leroy Buck, b. 1844 in Schuyler Co., NY.
She was the eldest of 3 children of Sarah Campbell, b. 1824, in Nelson, d. 1892 in Nelson; and Benjamin Docray Congdon, b. 1820, on Shelter Island, Suffolk Co., NY, d. 1897.
He was a farmer and carpenter. Jabez's parents were William C. Buck, b. May 2, 1809, in Ulster Co., NY, a farmer; and his 2nd wife, Susan E. Hanmer, born 1817 in Tompkins Co., NY.
Jabez' younger brother, George Wallace Buck, b. Mar. 24, 1849, in Schuyler Co., was the second husband of Emma's 1st cousin, Grace B. Campbell.
In Emma's 1924 letter she mentions that a high school girl has been staying with her for 2 years.
